Everyone who markets and sells information products needs to understand that people tend to
buy different TYPES of products. Some people prefer to purchase the video version of a product. Still others would rather attend a live event. For me and many others, we like audio programs.
Two good reasons on my part. First, I do a lot of traveling in the car. I've tried to watch video program while driving. NOT something I recommend. Nope. Instead, I do a lot of listening while in the car. So, audio programs work best for me.
If you're producing products for your niche, audio is definitely something you need to do.
You have 3 options for doing them. You can sit alone in a small, dark room and record your own voice into a microphone attached to a recording device. Although this will get the program done, it's your least effective way to do things.
People will get bored listening to just one person. No matter how good a speaker or storyteller you are.
Second, you can record one of your seminars or live events. I like listening to audios like this myself because the energy is usually pretty good. The one big complaint I always have is that often times people in the audience ask questions that can't be heard. Don't let this happen.
If you're going to record your program that way, make sure you have a way to capture audience questions so the person listening can actually hear and understand them. A good idea is to set up a microphone and have people approach the mic when they have questions.
Your final option is the one I most prefer these days. It's the interview. I do a lot of interviews of experts to create products. If you are going to do the interviews yourself, you need to learn HOW to do it. This is not something that comes naturally to most people. If you don't want to do it yourself, you can always hire someone like me who does it for a living.
Those are the three ways to do great audio programs. They are a must no matter what niche market you're in.
